5 Questions You Should Ask Before Hiring A PI Attorney
- Will your attorney personally answer your phone calls?
- What is the most the attorney has actually collected for a client?
- Is the Lawyer you hire a Board Certified Civil Jury Trial Expert recognized by the Florida Bar?
- Does the Law Firm handle only Personal Injury cases?
- Do the Firm’s owners live in Central Florida and Orlando?
This question should be asked of every attorney. Too often, we have heard horror stories from clients who come to us from other firms where the client never even met or spoke with their former attorney. How can that attorney be committed to that client? We pride ourselves on speaking with and meeting with every single client, directly, and as often as the client deems necessary. We have a strict policy that Jason Recksiedler and Caroline Fischer Espi, return every single client’s phone call within 24 hours. The only exception to this policy is if the attorneys are in a multi-day jury trial. Otherwise, it is not just a saying but a promise! You will always have direct access to speak with and meet your attorney to discuss every aspect of your case. Our attorneys work for you! Our personal injury lawyers will always speak with you directly, not just our staff!
Some attorney’s advertise results which are never actually collected. For example, the law firm may get a verdict where there was no insurance coverage or, in some cases, where there was not even a defendant and his attorney present at trial. These are deemed “uncollectible”.Our results are real and verifiable. Each result on our web site is accurate and was actually collected for our clients. These are merely a sample of the results that Jason Recksiedler and/or First Choice Law have collected. We are proud of obtaining big results for our clients. We are also proud of every result regardless of the amount, as we know we have obtained the maximum results for our clients, even in what others might consider small cases. Our attorneys will fight hard to get you the most money possible, regardless if it is a multimillion dollar injury or a modest injury recovery. First Choice Law has verifiable seven figure recoveries for clients.
Why is this important? The Florida Bar is the governing body that allows Lawyers to practice law in the State of Florida. Less than 2% of all lawyers in the State of Florida hold this distinction. This means that of the approximately 100,000 Florida attorneys, 2000 or less can claim they are Board Certified in Civil Jury Trials. All car crash cases, slip and fall cases, and any other injury cases seeking money damages, may require a civil jury trial. It is a big deal! In order to become a Board Certified Civil Jury Trial Expert as recognized by the Florida Bar, the attorney has to have had significant verifiable civil jury trial experience and pass a vigorous examination beyond merely obtaining the ability to practice as a Florida Lawyer. Additionally, they must maintain these skills which are reviewed every Five years. This includes significant peer review from both attorneys and Judges who have actual experience with the attorney in the courtroom. If you are hiring an attorney for your car crash or other injury case, you should hire someone who has proven credentials. Don’t be fooled by someone who claims they are a “Personal Injury Expert” there is no official recognition by the Florida Bar for this. However, if you speak with an attorney in your time of need, ask them directly, “are you a Board Certified Civil Jury Trial Expert by the Florida Bar”. If they answer, “no”, you may wish to hire someone who has the proven credentials to take your case the distance. Jason Recksiedler is a two-time Board Certified Civil Jury Trial Expert. Don’t be fooled by someone who merely calls themselves a “personal injury expert”, make sure you hire a Florida Bar Board Certified Jury Trial Expert. Make the right choice hire First Choice Law. Jason Recksiedler, founder of First Choice Law, is two-time board certified by the Florida Bar
The phrase, “jack of all trades, master of none”, sounds good but it’s not what you want when you have an injury and get only one chance to gain a maximum recovery. Some Law Firms are known as “threshold firms”, which means they will take any business that comes in the door. Others, advertise that they can do it all from criminal, divorce, immigration and personal injury. However, Jason Recksiedler and Caroline Fischer Espi are committed only to handling Plaintiff Personal Injury cases. They have spent their entire careers practicing only one type of law: Personal Injury Law. Car crash cases have specific laws unique only to car crashes. Slip and Fall cases have laws unique only to Slip and Falls. These issues are so varied that it takes a life-time of practice to master them. One misstep at or before trial can cost a Plaintiff their whole case. This is why we spend so much individual time with each client in preparation for deposition, mediation, and, when necessary, a civil jury trial. Our attorneys only handles plaintiff personal injury cases.
The advantage to hiring us is that Jason Recksiedler and Caroline Fischer Espi both have lived and worked in the greater Orlando metropolitan area, combined, for more than 30 years. They are committed to your community. This would include familiarity with the jury pools, the judges, and the particular court environment. Some firms who advertise in Orlando, only keep “satellite” or secondary offices here. Some of these firms spend countless dollars advertising in Orlando, even though their owners actually live in Jacksonville, Miami or Tampa. This means they may not be committed or familiar with the very community they are tasked to serve. Our owners live in Orlando and Longwood, Florida, full time. Proven commitment to this community. The owners of First Choice Law live in Seminole and Orange County.
